The research Unit led by Dr. Brendolan at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute focuses on understanding the development and function of the lymphoid microenvironment in physiology and cancer. The laboratory has also a long-standing interest in translating some of the basic information on how lymphoid organs develop into the generation of 3D artificial lymphoid tissues for pre-clinical applications in oncology and tissue regeneration. In the context of CRACK-IT, we are exploiting a dual organ system (bone marrow and lymph node) for the long-term culture, phenotypic characterisation and visualisation of gene-edited human hematopoietic stem progenitor cells.
